A woman who was allegedly the driver of the getaway vehicle when a St Andrews service station was robbed earlier this month has been arrested and charged.

Detectives investigating the robbery arrested the 18-year-old woman at Meadowbank yesterday.

She was taken to Ryde Police Station and charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon.

She was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court later today, Saturday, January 23.

Police will allege in court the woman was the driver of a getaway vehicle used following the armed robbery at St Andrews.

About 10pm on January 2, two men armed with a hammer and a knife entered a service station on Ballantrae Drive, St Andrews.

One man allegedly used a hammer to smash several display cabinets in the service station, while the second threatened two employees.

The pair stole cigarettes and cash before leaving the scene in a grey vehicle.

There were no reports of physical injuries during either incident.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command, together with detectives from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad, commenced an investigation into the incident.

Earlier this month, detectives seized a grey Hyundai i30, and arrested a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy. The teenagers were charged and remain before the courts.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
