The very successful Doctor Jennifer Harrison who grew up in Liverpool

The Spotlight on Liverpool Lives series of talks continue at the Liverpool City Library in November with guest speaker Dr Jennifer Harrison, the respected neuropsychiatrist and award-winning poet.
Dr Harrison, who is now based in Melbourne, grew up in Liverpool where her parents had a motorcycle shop.
Dr Harrison runs the Developmental Assessment and Management Program and the Neuropsychiatry Clinic at the Alfred Hospital, where she specialises in the wellbeing of children and youth with autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
She founded and continues to manage The Dax Poetry Collection at The Dax Centre, the internationally renowned Australian collection of mental health art, which is housed at the University of Melbourne.
In 2012 she was awarded the Christopher Brennan Award for sustained lifetime contribution to Australian poetry.
“Dr Harrison is an incredibly accomplished and successful person with lots to share about success and hard work,” said Liverpool City Mayor Ned Mannoun.
“We look forward to welcoming her back to Liverpool, where she spent much of her formative years, and hearing about the role Liverpool played in shaping the person she has become.”
