In the afternoon of Wednesday, April 4, a Ruse resident was walking her dog when an off leash dog attacked her pet.
As a result of the attack, the dog owner fell over and suffered a laceration to her right eyebrow and bruising in her left eye.
Her dog suffered a puncture wound to the stomach.
The owner of the attacking dog ran out, took control of her dog and assisted the other owner.
A report to Campbelltown Council on recent dog attacks said an Office of Local Government Report has been submitted regarding the incident in Ruse and the matter referred to Campbelltown Police.
- Another reported dog attack took place in Macquarie Fields around 5.50pm on Friday, March 30.
A dog was roaming in a common driveway of a block of townhouses when it suffered a minor injury after being attacked by two other roaming dogs.
The owner of the attacking dogs took them home, then informed the other dog owner.
Council again submitted a report of the incident to Office of Local Government and notified Campbelltown Police.
- The third and fourth incidents in the report involved dogs attacking cats.
In one of them, two roaming dogs entered a rear yard in Glenfield at 9am on April 4 and attacked a cat, causing serious injuries.
The dogs were chased off and the cat was treated by a vet.
Penalty notices were issued to the owner of the dog, and a report submitted to the Office of Local Government.
- At 10pm on April 9 a cat was asleep in the driveway of its Ingleburn home when it was attacked by a stray dog.
The cat owner intervened and received a bite to the right hand.
The cat was taken to the vet where it was euthanized.
An Office of Local Government report was submitted and Campbelltown Police notified.
No further action has been taken as the owner of the attacking dog could not be identified.
