Spring into Camden Village, Op Shop Hop, Christmas Shopping events, Village Gatherings and Spinout Rock and Roll Festival will be back on again thanks to a $120,000 NSW Government grant.
For a second consecutive year, Spirit of Camden has secured funding through the Uptown Grant Program to support the continued development and promotion of Camden Village as a vibrant, welcoming destination for locals, visitors and tourists.
The stage four enables established District teams to deliver initiatives that strengthen their local areas, increase visibility and encourage more people to explore and spend time in their precincts.
Camden Village is one of 41 Districts across 15 Local Government Areas receiving funding through Round 4.
Chair of Spirit of Camden Matt Glynn said receiving the funding for another year was an important vote of confidence in the work being undertaken across Camden Village.
“We are incredibly excited to receive Uptown Grant funding for Camden Village for a second year,’’ he said.
“Over the past year we have started building something that is much bigger than any one event or promotion – it is about businesses, community organisations and local people working together to celebrate Camden and give people more reasons to visit, stay longer and experience everything our town has to offer.’’
For Spirit of Camden the latest funding provides an opportunity to build on the work already under way to establish Camden Village as a distinctive destination.
Over the coming year, Spirit of Camden will continue to develop a program of activities designed to bring people into the town centre, support local businesses and showcase Camden’s unique character.
District coordinator, Melissa Musgrave said the funding will build on what has been delivered to date.
“This funding gives us the opportunity to build on that momentum through projects including Spring into Camden Village, Op Shop Hop, our Christmas shopping activities, Village Gatherings and Spinout Rock and Roll Festival,’’ Ms Musgrave said.
“Most importantly, we want more people to be part of what we are creating.
“We encourage local businesses, community groups and individuals who care about the future of Camden to join Spirit of Camden and help us continue building a vibrant, welcoming and connected Camden Village.”
