The NSW Solar Bonus Scheme is coming to a close at the end of this year.

To help those affected understand what will happen beyond 2016, the NSW Department of Industry in collaboration with the Office of Environment and Heritage and with the support of local partners are hosting information sessions across NSW.

The Energy Opportunity Workshops will provide information to owners of premises receiving a 60c or 20c subsidised feed-in tariff about what is going to happen, plus information to understand how they can maximise benefits from their small scale renewable energy systems after the bonus scheme ends.

At these sessions an independent energy expert will explain how the changes to the feed-in tariff will affect you, what you need to do in the lead up to the closure and the important steps you need to take.

The sessions will also cover a range of clean energy opportunities, including:

• How to understand the different metering arrangements (i.e. gross and net) and the benefits;

• The emerging technologies to consider including battery storage and energy monitoring devices;

• Ways you can become more energy efficient to minimise your electricity bills and more.

These sessions are impartial and independent, with factual information provided to help NSW residents about how to create energy opportunities in their home or business at scheme’s end.

This workshops are free of charge to attend but there is limited seating so you will need to reserve your seat.

The nearest workshop for Macarthur residents will be held on Friday, November 11 in the Garden View room of the Country Comfort Hunts Motel, Camden Valley Way, Crossroads. It will start from 5.30 and run for around two hours.

For further information about the scheme closure visit the NSW Division of Resources and Energy website.
