Camden Showground is set for a power boost after being allocated more than $20,000 under the NSW Government’s Covid-19 stimulus program.

“This funding will upgrade Camden Showground’s power supply system and infrastructure to increase the power capacity available for events,” says the Member for Camden, Peter Sidgreaves.

“Our showground is a multi-use facility and this investment will ensure it can be enjoyed by generations to come.

“The NSW Government values the central role of showgrounds and we want to ensure they’re supported and modernised.”

As many showgrounds served as emergency centres for residents and their animals, firefighters and other support services during recent bushfires and floods, the NSW Government wants to ensure they are well maintained.

Camden Show Society President Greg Wall said he was looking forward to seeing the completion of the electrical upgrade prior to the 2021 Show.

“The works will be of great benefit to the whole community as the Showground is used all year round.”
