Anyone who is commencing study, starting a new course after a long break, or simply uncertain about how to locate reliable resources to assist with completing assessment tasks is invited to attend a free information session at HJ Daley Library, Campbelltown.
“Serious about Study” will be between 6.30pm and 8pm on Wednesday, March 23.
The aim is to provide students with an understanding of the resources available at Campbelltown branch libraries, including access to computers, the internet and WiFi, as well as academic library resources.
Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Hawker, said Council was pleased to support local students to advance their qualifications.
“There are four branch libraries across Campbelltown where students can access a huge range of books, CDs and DVDs, as well as study spaces and computer rooms,’’ Cr Hawker said.
“There are quiet areas for individual research as well as active spaces for collaborative learning, and library staff can help students with the use of computers, internet and WiFi, and assist them to access online
resources including e-books, databases and online tutoring programs,” Cr Hawker said.
“Our libraries aren’t the silent places they used to be when I was a student.
“They are dynamic, active, plugged in and vibrant – but most importantly, they are the places where people can come together to access and share information.
“Serious about Study is an opportunity for tertiary students of all ages, especially those studying an online course from home, to meet other people, locate resources and feel part of the student community,” Cr Hawker said.
This is a free event, but bookings are essential as places are limited.
