A 41 year old man will face court today after being charged by Strike Force Raptor with supplying and selling illegal firearms.

Detectives arrested the man at Minto about 11.30am yesterday.

The man was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with two counts of supplying a prohibited firearm to an unauthorised person and selling a prohibited weapon to a person without permit.

He was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court.

Police will allege in court that the accused sold three semi-automatic rifles and a police-issued ballistic vest to another man in June 2019. One of the rifles is pictured above.

In June 2018, investigators from the Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Raptor commenced an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs and firearms across the state.

Strike Force Raptor was established in 2009 and conducts proactive investigations and intelligence-based, high-impact policing operations to prevent and disrupt conflicts, and dismantle any network engaged in serious organised criminal activity.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information, including relevant photos and videos, that may assist Strike Force Raptor can report it directly to investigators via the Strike Force Raptor online reporting page: https://www1.police.nsw.gov.au/Default.aspx?id=49 or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
