Wests Tigers half-back Adam Doueihi will undergo shoulder surgery this week, bringing an end to his 2026 season.

He will join Taylan May and Kai Pearce-Paul, who won’t be returning from their injuries until next season either.

Doueihi suffered the injury in scoring a try against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in Round 9, resulting in the playmaker being out for two months.

The 28-year-old has bravely played on with the injury since returning in Round 17, including in Sunday’s two point loss to the Dragons at Parramatta.

“New scans on Adam’s shoulder have showed the time has come to have his reconstruction done. This gives him enough time to be ready for the start of the 2027 season,’’ says Wests Tigers head of high performance Peter Moussa.

Meanwhile, Wests Tigers five-eighth Latu Fainu suffered a low-grade hamstring injury at training. Fainu was set to return this week after serving a three-game suspension, he is expected to be out for 1-2 weeks.

The club says Taylan May and Kai Pearce-Paul will return in round one of 2027.

May, who has undergone shoulder reconstruction, has been out since round 17 (Knights).

Kai Pearce-Paul suffered a pectoral tendon injury in round 15 against the Titans.

A chance to return from injury before the 2026 season expires is barnstorming forward Royce Hunt, who also suffered a pectoral tendon injury, in Round 14 against the Panthers.

This afternoon, Wests Tigers NRL head coach Benji Marshall named his squad to play the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium on Sunday, August 23, in Round 25 of the Telstra Premiership (Kickoff at 4.05pm).

Jock Madden returns to the team at half-back to replace Adam Doueihi, while Jeral Skelton comes onto the wing in place of Sunia Turuva, who has been named on the interchange bench.
