Campbelltown Council’s spring school holiday program is once again packed with new activities and old favourites, offering local children lots of opportunities to learn and have fun during the school holiday break.

For example, are you mad about mummies? Crazy for cartouche? Passionate about pyramids?

Walk Like an Egyptian, an afternoon of Egyptian-inspired games, craft and storytelling at
HJ Daley Library, is among a wealth of fun, free or low cost activities on offer to Campbelltown’s young people during the spring school holidays.

The spring holiday break starts on Monday, September 25 and ends on Friday, October 6.

Campbelltown City’s four library services will host exciting activities for children and teenagers with a variety of interests, including Dungeons and Dragons and a cartooning workshop for
12 to 18-year-olds, creating and playing musical instruments, the Crocodile Encounters animal show for five to 12-year-olds, and PJ Storytime for three to eight-year-olds.

Come along to the “pop up library’’ at the new Magic Garden at Campbelltown Mall from 9.30am to 4.30pm on Tuesday, September 26, to find out what local libraries have to offer, join the library and borrow from a range of books, magazines and DVDs.

There’ll also be special storytimes from 10am.

Campbelltown Arts Centre will host activities aiming to nurture creativity and appreciation of the arts.

There children can enjoy creating something magical with their parents at the Fairy and Dinosaur Terrarium workshop, and plan a party – from costumes to decorations and music – at the Arty Party workshop.

There are also plenty of fun activities in the arts centre.

Council’s three leisure centres, Eagle Vale, Macquarie Fields and Gordon Fetterplace Aquatic Centre in Bradbury, will hold intensive learn to swim programs – 30-minute lessons for five days in a row – and pool inflatable days, offering lots of fun in heated indoor pools.

Campbelltown’s Bicycle Education and Road Safety Centre will be open from 10am to 3pm Sunday to Friday during the school holidays, offering activities including a road circuit with signage and traffic lights, a junior track for toddlers, shaded bicycle skills area, picnic tables and a powered barbecue.
