Are you a young woman who is considering a career in aviation?

If yes, as a starting point you might consider applying for a Bankstown Airport and Basair Aviation College women in aviation assistance scholarship.

The Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA) and Bankstown Airport Limited have just announced that applications are now open for the 2018 women in aviation assistance scholarships.

There are five such scholarships up for grabs.

Funded by Bankstown Airport Limited in partnership with BASAIR Aviation College, each of the scholarships is valued at more than $3,000.

As part of the scholarship, the successful five young women will each undergo two introductory flights with BASAIR.

This will then be accompanied by two days on site with the Bankstown airport management team, learning about compliance, operations, aviation safety and contractor management.

The scholarships are open to those young women currently studying Year 11 or 12 at a school or TAFE and who live near or within the Sydney Basin area.

Successful candidates will be notified in advance and presented with the scholarship in October.

Their first scholarship flights will be undertaken (if convenient) during the Aviatex aviation industry event that will be held at Bankstown airport during November 15-17 this year.

All applications will be judged by a panel comprising senior members of the RAAA, Bankstown Airport Limited and BASAIR Aviation College.

The deadline for applications is August 31.

For application forms or if you have any further questions please contact the RAAA on 6162 0305 or email administration@raaa.com.au
