The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is finally available in the Macarthur region.
The rollout was formally launched on Friday, July 1.
Campbelltown MP Greg Warren, who attended the launch function, has urged the State Government to complete the rollout of NDIS as soon as possible.
“The NDIS is historic reform enacted by the former Federal Labor Government to provide people with disability greater choice and certainty over the support they receive,’’ Mr Warren said.
“These reforms will help the people of Campbelltown cater services to their own personal needs, ensuring a sense of independence.
“I alongside the NSW Labor Party, call on the Baird Liberal Government to ensure that people with disability, their families and carers receive information about how they can access the NDIS.
“It is very important to the people of Campbelltown in particular that culturally and linguistically diverse communities and Indigenous communities are provided adequate information about the NDIS.
“I will not allow the people of Campbelltown with disabilities to be left behind.
“I urge Mike Baird and his government to release more information about the transfer of disability services to the non-government sector.

Macarthur is the second region to join the rollout of the NDIS.
The Nepean-Blue Mountains area was the first on July 1, 2015, following a trial in the Hunter region.
It is estimated that the NDIS will provide support packages to 140,000 people with disability in NSW – including 50,000 people who do not currently receive any disability support services.
Mr Warren said that after completing stage two of the NDIS, the government should press ahead and complete the full rollout of the program.
