Among the hundreds of police officers and their supporters who are taking part in the annual motorcycle Wall to Wall Ride for Remembrance this weekend will be one of their strongest supporters, Federal Member for Fowler Chris Hayes.
Converging on Canberra on Sunday, the ride is a tribute to the brave officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
A strong supporter of police officers and the work they do, Mr Hayes joins in by riding his motorbike to Canberra alongside them.
“The ride represents an opportunity to acknowledge the unique and often dangerous nature of policing,’’ he said before departing on the ride.

Earlier this week Mr Hayes spoke in Parliament about the importance of the National Police Remembrance Day, observed annually on September 29, as a day to pause and remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
“The bravery of our police men and women and their dedication to serving and protecting our community should be nationally acknowledged and never taken for granted.
“We are forever in their debt,’’ Mr Hayes said during his speech.
“Through my close involvement with the police, I have come to understand that it takes a special kind of person and a special kind of courage and commitment to wear the police uniform.
“On behalf of a grateful community, I want to assure every police officer across the nation, in particular the local police officers at the Liverpool, Green Valley,
Cabramatta and Fairfield Local Area Commands that their efforts are not taken for granted”, Mr Hayes said.
