Russell Matheson: Thank you, minister, for the review.

It missed out when it first applied for funding, but a subsequent  review means Macarthur community organisation the Trustees of the Presentation Sisters Wagga will receive $43,342 from the Abbott Government.

The money will ensure their essential frontline community service can continue to assist local residents, according to Federal Member for Macarthur, Russell Matheson.

“This is great news for our community,’’ he said.

“This funding, for two additional years to June 30, 2017, will be delivered to ensure the Trustees of the Presentation Sisters Wagga can continue to provide children and parent support services,” Mr Matheson said.

“The Trustees of the Presentation Sisters Wagga initial Federal Government funding application under the Department of Social Services’ New Way of Working for Grants scheme was unsuccessful.

“However a service gap analysis into the grants scheme commissioned by Minister for Social Services Scott Morrison earlier this year resulted in funding being approved.

“I thank the Minister for implementing the gap analysis.

“This funding is good news for Macarthur, particularly for our residents who benefit from these services.
