Crunch time: in 2016 Jason Taylor will be head coach of Wests Tigers for the second year in a row.

A new assistant coach to Jason Taylor is one of the changes  at the Wests Tigers football department following a review of the 2015 season.

The club has also announced the signing of a new Holden Cup coach to replace the departing Brett Kimmorley.

Jason Taylor will be the head coach for the 2016 season, his second year in charge of the Tigers.

His NRL assistant coaches will be David Kidwell, who will be in his third year in the role, and new man Craig Sandercock, who was at the Newcastle Knights in the same role.

Between 2012 and 2014 Sandercock was head coach of Hull KR in the Super League and for the two years before heading to England was on the coaching staff of the Newcastle Knights.

The Wests Tigers physical performance department will be headed up next year by Marcus Kain, who is entering his second season at the club.

Kain will be joined by new strength and conditioning coach Chris Dorman, who has spent the past five years as the assistant strength and conditioning coach at the Fremantle Dockers.

Also joining the club is Alex Kertesz, who will take on the role of assistant strength and conditioning coach.

Kertesz joins Wests Tigers having been a part of the NSW Waratahs staff since 2012.

Blake McLean will continue to head up the club’s Sports Science program.

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said that the changes to the coaching staff were made following a rigorous review process.
