If you are looking for an apprenticeship or traineeship, the March 5 information night at Wests Leagues is for you.

If you are a young person looking for an apprenticeship or traineeship right now don’t miss the MWLP Jobs for Youth information night on March 5.

That’s because hundreds of actual apprenticeship and traineeship positions will be on offer on the night – and best of all, it’s free to attend.

“These are real jobs available now,’’ says an MWLP spokesperson.

“It truly is a wonderful opportunity for young people from Macarthur.’’

Young people are being encouraged to take along their resumes as they will be able to apply on the night for an apprenticeship or traineeship they are interested in.

They will be able to choose from hundreds of apprenticeships and traineeships in engineering, business, construction, child care, automotive, electrical, health, hospitality and other sectors and industries.

If they are not ready to apply for a job just yet, young people should attend the information night anyway to learn more about apprenticeships and traineeships.

A panel of experts, from state training services to group training organisations and employers will also be on hand to answer all your questions.

It will be an inclusive evening and everyone is welcome, from young people, parents and carers.

And while attending is free, those planning to go along are asked to register their participation.

  1. It is great that these apprentices are being offered but their is an urgent need for government to introduce a form of HECS to make loans to apprentices to cover fees and costs like tools and maybe weekly funds to support their living as it is almost impossible to survive on an apprentice wage unless you are supported by the family. Loans are made to go to Uni but tradies are left to starve and this is a big reason why a lot of apprentices don’t complete. No good of talking about the shortage of skilled tradies – do something practical and I am sure most tradies would repay the HECS much quicker than uni graduates
