A Raby man was due to appear in court today after he was charged over the alleged sexual assault of a teenage girl in the Macarthur region last year.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad recently recommenced an investigation following reports a 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in April 2016 by a man known to her.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 28-year-old man at Macquarie Fields Police Station about 3pm yesterday (Thursday, August 31).
He was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a victim under the age of 16.
Police will allege in court the man sexually assaulted the girl when she was staying at a friend’s home over the Anzac Day weekend in 2016.
The Raby man was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Friday, September 1).
The Child Abuse Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate crimes against children, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse and extreme cases of neglect.
