Football NSW has announced that the 2015  National Premier Leagues NSW Mens 1 Preseason Cup will kick off on January 30 for first grade.

As part of its preseason schedule, there will also be Football NSW organised friendlies for the grade 12s right up to the grade 20s.

The Preseason Cup has been split into two pools with the first lot of matches taking place on  January 30 and the Grand Final to take place on the weekend of March 7-8.

It will be structured as a round-robin format with the winning teams from both pools facing each other in the Grand Final.

2015 will be a huge year for all 12 clubs involved, with the introduction of newly promoted Parramatta FC making its debut after winning promotion into NSW’s top tier competition while 2014 Pre-season Cup Champions Rockdale City Suns will be looking towards claiming back to back titles under coach Branko Culina.

The 2014 final was played at the Ilinden Sports Centre which saw the Suns defeat Blacktown Spartans 3-2. A brace from Daniel Barac and Tadhg Purcell all but cancelled out Spartans’ Elsid Barkhousir and Jacob Ott’s strikes to lift what was the first piece of silverware in 2014.

All teams will be using the Cup as ideal preparation for the forthcoming PS4 National Premier Leagues NSW Mens 1 season with a number of teams sporting a flurry of new recruits in what’s shaping up to be a blockbuster season of football.

The pools are as follows:

Pool A

APIA Leichhardt Tigers

Bonnyrigg White Eagles

Blacktown City

Rockdale City Suns

Sydney United 58 FC

South Coast Wolves FC

Pool B

Blacktown Spartans

Manly United

Marconi Stallions

Parramatta FC

Sydney Olympic

Sutherland Sharks
