Police to address media over Bringelly home invasion

Police will address the media later his morning over the home invasion overnight that resulted in three people suffering life-threatening injuries.

Acting Superintendent Paul Albury, Commander of the Liverpool Police Area Command will address the media at 11am.

Officers are currently still at the scene of the home invasion at a rural property in Bringelly.

Police were called to the property about 11.20pm last night (Monday, July 16), following reports a man and woman, armed with a gun and a knife, had forced their way inside.

Responding police were re-directed to a neighbouring property where they found the three occupants from the home invasion.

A woman had suffered a stab wound to her neck and hand, while a man suffered a stab wound to his chest and stomach.

The third male occupant was not injured.

While officers were responding to the home invasion, a second crime scene was established after a car crashed into a tree on The Northern Road at Luddenham.

The male driver of the vehicle was found suffering a gun-shot wound, while his female passenger was uninjured.

The driver was taken to hospital, under police guard.

The female passenger was placed under arrest and taken to Liverpool Police Station where she is currently assisting with inquiries into the Bringelly home invasion.

The two occupants with the stab wounds were taken to hospital and are currently being treated.

Their condition is believed to be serious.

Detectives from Liverpool Police Area Command have launched a full investigation into the incident.
