Residents across Campbelltown City are invited to have their say on the Bow Bowing Bunbury Curran Creek catchment strategic floodplain risk management study and plan.

Campbelltown City Council is in the final stages of completing the document which identifies the areas most at risk of flooding and potential ways to minimise and best manage the risk.

The Bow Bowing Bunbury Curran Creek catchment covers a majority of the urban areas in the Campbelltown local government area, stretching from Ambarvale to Glenfield.

The floodplain risk management study and plan is a key step in the floodplain risk management process, set by the NSW Government for councils to follow.

The project is supported by the NSW and Australian Governments through the natural disaster resilience program.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, is calling on residents to review the document, attend a community information session and to submit their feedback by the close of submissions on October 1.

“Community information sessions will be held this Thursday, September 20 at Campbelltown Civic Hall from 11am to 2pm and from 5pm to 7pm,’’ he said.
