For some dog lovers, the day after the 2025 federal election is the one they’re really looking forward to this year.

That’s because on Sunday, May 4, Camden Bicentennial Equestrian Park will host the popular Paws in the Park.

The fun community day was washed out last year, another reason canine enthusiasts will be full of anticipation ahead of this year’s event.

Whether you’re a local dog lover or just looking for a fun day out, Paws in the Park is packed with paw-some activities the whole family can enjoy.

From a 2-kilometre dog walk to the ever-popular pawtastic parade, roving performers and live entertainment, obedience classes and training tips, face painting for the little ones, and numerous family-friendly activities, Paws in the Park has something for everyone.

The event also promotes responsible pet ownership, offering visitors the opportunity to learn from experts, connect with local services and explore the latest in pet care and products.

Camden Mayor Ashleigh Cagney said the event continues to be one of the highlights of the local community calendar.

“Paws in the Park is a fantastic celebration of the special bond between pets and their owners,” she said.

“It’s a chance for dog lovers across our region to come together, enjoy the outdoors and connect with a range of great local services and stallholders.”

Attendees can also browse a range of dog-related stalls and learn more about pet health, training, grooming and accessories.

So the message “don’t miss this paw-some day out for you and your furry friend’’ is definitely not barking up the wrong tree.
