Police have charged two men after hundreds of cannabis plants were seized in Glen Alpine yesterday.
In early March officers from Campbelltown Local Area Command commenced an investigation into the cultivation of prohibited cannabis plants in and around the Glen Alpine area.
Yesterday (Thursday, March 19), detectives from Campbelltown were assisted by Bass Hill Region Enforcement Squad and Wetherill Park Region Enforcement Squad officers, to execute a search warrant at a premises on Hartford Avenue, Glen Alpine.
During the search police seized 617 cannabis plants growing in 11 rooms of the house that have an estimated street value of $1.8 million.
Two men, aged 31 and 51, were arrested at the location and taken to Campbelltown Police Station.
They were both charged with cultivating commercial quantity of cannabis plants.
The men were bail refused to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Friday).
