Minto Post Office is now home to a bank of shiny new red parcel lockers, giving local residents a secure and easy way to collect online deliveries 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The new lockers arrive as online shopping continues to grow, and Australians expect greater speed and flexibility from delivery services.

Australia Post’s latest Quarterly eCommerce Update found 9.3 million households shopped online during the June quarter, spending $21.9 billion, up 14 percent year-on-year.

It also found 61 percent of consumers are more likely to shop during sale events when fast delivery is available.

Parcel lockers give Minto locals the flexibility to send and receive parcels around their schedule, extending the traditional delivery model outside of standard business hours.

The lockers allow residents to collect eligible deliveries and missed parcels, as well as send or return eligible prepaid parcels.

Customers can choose different dimensions and sizing for each parcel locker, depending on the size of their orders.

To get started, create a free MyPost account through the AusPost app, selecting a preferred parcel locker and using the unique locker address when shopping online.

The app offers the added convenience of real-time tracking and viewing estimated delivery dates all in one place.

“As Australia’s postal service for more than 215 years, Australia Post is at the heart of every community, and parcel lockers are just one of many ways we’re responding to the changing needs of contemporary Australians,” said an Australia Post spokesperson.

“Australians clearly love shopping online, and we are continuing to see growing popularity of our parcel lockers amongst shoppers across the country.

“We look forward to continuing to invest in our network to meet the needs of our customers.’’
