The Festival of Fisher’s Ghost mascot meets some of the locals at the annual parade last Saturday. Crowd numbers were the best for some years, despite the weather.

Last Saturday’s parade kicked off the 60th Festival of Fisher’s Ghost in Campbelltown, but the fun continues this weekend.

A highlight of the program is the market atmosphere and great family entertainment on offer at the Fisher’s Ghost Street Fair this Saturday, November 14.

Held in the heart of Campbelltown, Queen Street will be a shopper’s paradise over four hours, from 10am to 2pm, with almost 100 stalls selling tasty food, showbags, handmade jewellery, home and lifestyle products, fashion, and lots more.

If shopping is not your thing, get to Mawson Park which will be transformed into a fun zone for families, with plenty of free activities and events for children. Kids will love the interactive entertainment of Hotel Transylvania: Get Ready to Party, a new stage show that celebrates the movie release of Hotel Transylvania.

Sporty types will enjoy the Kicko Soccer inflatable soccer pitch and the AFL Giant Kicker.

The ever popular Farm Friends Petting Zoo is back, with rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, ducklings, lambs, baby goats, geese, turkeys and a mini pig.

All the animals are guaranteed to be super cute.

Other entertainment includes talented vocalists and local dance groups, and there will be Fisher’s Ghost merchandise giveaways to celebrate the 60th year of the festival.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Hawker, said the Street Fair reflected the vibrancy and diversity of the local community.

“From markets to music to football, the Street Fair has something for everyone,” Cr Hawker said.

“It’s a great day out for the family, full of fun and entertainment, and we want everyone to join in Fred’s party and celebrate Campbelltown’s community spirit.

“The Festival of Fisher’s Ghost is 10 days of frighteningly good fun. Council prides itself on delivering a varied and exciting program each year, and the 2015 festival will be no exception,” Cr Hawker added.

The Festival of Fisher’s Ghost runs from 6 to 15 November; visit the website for more information.
