With an Olympic gold medal winning volleyball star as guest speaker, the Kids of Macarthur annual Women’s Trust Luncheon will this year raise money for the purchase of medical equipment for Campbelltown hospital’s paediatric loan pool, says CEO Denise McGrath.

“This is the only day of the year that specifically supports the purchase of new equipment for the local paediatric loan pool at Campbelltown hospital.’’

Ms McGrath said that the luncheon always attracts a special guests and this year is no different.

“Our special guest this year is beach volleyballer Kerri Pottharst,’’ Ms McGrath said.

A three time Olympian, Kerri Pottharst won bronze in Atlanta in 1996 and then gold in the Sydney Games four years later.

Ms Pottharst will discuss motivation techniques she employed both during the games and in life when she speaks at the Kids of Macarthur function on Friday, August 18.

Venue for the luncheon is the Macarthur Room, Campbelltown RSL Club, Carberry Lane, Campbelltown.

The Women’s Trust is part of Kids of Macarthur and committee members help organise the event every year to raise money which will be used to buy equipment for the hospital.

And while it’s billed as an annual lunch for ladies, the Foundation says gentlemen can also attend the fundraiser.

The lunch costs $75 per ticket, or a table of 10 for $750. Sponsorship packages are also available.
