Sydney band Ocean Alley will head the line up at this year’s Fisher’s Gig – Campbelltown’s annual youth music festival.

But also getting amongst it at Bradbury Park on Saturday, November 5 will be Macarthur region band Blank Display.

The three member band played their first show at the Fisher’s Gig pre-heats in July and will be looking forward to performing at home in such an iconic event.

Fisher’s Gig has been part of the Festival of Fisher’s Ghost

celebrations since 1998 and is earning a reputation for launching young music careers.

Ocean Alley, which formed in 2010, has been impressing sold out crowds across Australia with exciting visual performances and their refreshing brand of psychedelic reggae fusion for the past 18 months.

Second headline act, indie band The Vanns, will bring their guitar-driven rock tunes to the gig, while home grown talent, Camden punk rock band Blank Display will join the main headliners as the local support.

The lineup of local talent, chosen from this year’s pre-selection heats, includes A Shot In The Dark, Karleigh Rose, The Winter Effect, Nathan Levi, Tragedy Strategy, Hannah Mitchell, Third Hour, Rose Cole, The Last Exposure, River and Goose, The Dirty Reeds and Isaac Lewis.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said this year’s Fisher’s Gig would be one of the largest to date, even boasting a bigger stage to accommodate the non-stop music lineup.

[social_quote duplicate=”no” align=”default”]“Our headline acts will be complemented by an outstanding line up of talented local young people again this year.[/social_quote]

“They’ve already shown us what they can do during the heats, and I encourage everyone to come along and see our stars of the future,” he said.

Cr Brticevic also thanked the Youth Entertainment Reference Group volunteers for their commitment and hard work in planning and organising this year’s gig.

Fisher’s Gig will finish in spectacular style with a huge fireworks display at 9pm.

The annual youth music festival is a free, all ages, drug and alcohol free event.
