A P1 provisional driver had his number plates confiscated and will have to face court after he was caught and charged for allegedly speeding by more than 60km/h over the limit in Ingleburn yesterday.
About 4.55pm (Sunday 20 August 2017), officers from the Traffic & Highway Patrol Command were conducting speed enforcement on Williamson Road, when they detected a Holden Commodore allegedly speeding at 132km/h in a 70km/h zone.
Officers stopped the car and spoke to the driver, a 22-year-old man, who was the holder of a P1 provisional licence.
Also in the car, were three passengers, two aged 18 and one aged 20.
Following investigations, officers removed the number plates from the car and confiscated them as well as suspending the driver’s licence on the spot.
The driver was charged with driving at speed dangerous to the public, and exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h.
He is due to face Campbelltown Local Court on Tuesday, September 26.

An investigation is under way following a crash between a van and truck at Mount Vernon this morning.
Emergency services were called to Elizabeth Drive just before 9.30am following reports a Toyota HiAce van and semi trailer had collided.
The driver and passenger of the van, both believed to be in their mid 30s, and his passenger, were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition.
A man believed to be in his mid 40s, who was the driver of the truck, was also assessed at the scene and received only minor injuries.

Police are investigating a break-in at an ambulance station at Liverpool on the weekend.
The break-in is believed to have occurred at the Forbes Street building sometime between 2pm on August 19 and 11am on the following day.
NSW Ambulance staff discovered the break-in on 20 August 2017 and reported the matter to police.
A quantity of uniforms, four wheel drive equipment and industrial vacuum cleaners were stolen.
