MP Bryan Doyle is encouraging the Campbelltown community to nominate an outstanding woman for the 2015 NSW Women of the Year Awards before nominations close in a week.

Mr Doyle said, “We all know an inspiring woman who deserves to be recognized for her achievements and contributions and it is now easier then ever to nominate at www.women.nsw.gov.au .”

“The NSW Women of the Year Awards is our way of coming together and celebrating women who go above and beyond, so I’m asking members of the public to nominate women that inspire and make a difference to our community,’’ Mr Doyle said.

Premier’s Award for Woman of the Year;

A. H. Beard’s Community Hero Award;

“Nominations are open for the prestigious NSW Premier’s Award for Woman of the Year, A.H. Beard’s Community Hero Award, Rex’s Regional Woman of the Year Award and Harvey Norman’s Young Woman of the Year Award, which all commemorate the successes of women in the state,” said Mr Doyle.

The awards ceremony will be held at Parliament House on March 4, 2015.

People’s choice in 2013: Jessica Brown.

Last year the Woman of the Year was  Dr Cathy Foley, one Australia’s foremost scientists, leading the way for women in science and inspiring a generation of young girls to follow in her footsteps. Ms Foley is one of a handful of women to hold a very senior position in science. As Chief of the CSIRO’s Materials Science and Engineering division, she is responsible for around 900 people and a budget of more than $60 million.

The 2013 people’s choice community hero woman of the year was Jessica Brown, the founder and CEO of Life Changing Experiences Foundation and its SISTER2Sister mentoring program, which has changed the lives of hundreds of young women across NSW.
