This Sunday at Campbelltown Stadium Bulls fans will get to check out what their team looks like without Jed Drew, Ariath Piol and Oliver Jones.
Macarthur FC will host Western United from 5pm, and missing will be the three young stars who have said goodbye to seek fame and fortune in Europe.
But the club hasn’t been idle since their departure, and through this week announced the signing of two experienced overseas players.
They are Saîf-Eddine Khaoui, an attacking midfielder, with a wealth of experience, and centre-back Kevin Boli.
Both have been signed until the end of the 2024/25 A-League season.
Boli played more than 150 matches in the Romanian SuperLiga and more than 40 games in France’s Ligue 2. He is 33 years old.
In addition to his defensive prowess, Boli has an eye for goal, scoring 13 times throughout his career. His presence will provide strength and stability to Macarthur FC’s defence as the team pushes for success this season.
Saîf will be re-united with Valere Germain having played alongside the current Bulls captain in the top French tier.
He played 180 matches in France’s top two divisions, and throughout his career he has faced some of the world’s best, including Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar.
He comes to Macarthur FC direct from the UAE Pro League.
The round 18 clash between the Bulls and Western United will see two teams desperate for premiership points as the fight for semi final spots heats up.
United, who were admitted to the A-League a year before the Bulls, are running third on the ladder, two spots ahead of the home side.
There have been 11 matches between them, and it’s all evens-stevens, with three wins apiece, and five draws.
Last round the Bulls looked headed for at least a draw in Auckland, but a late second goal by the home side meant they returned to Australia empty handed.
