They’ve already hosted summer competition action but the official opening of the new netball courts in the Narellan Sports Hub will take place this Sunday, October 22.
It will be a big day of celebration for Camden Netball Association, starting from 10.30am and continuing most of the day until 3pm.
Part of stage one of the sports hub plan for Kirkham, the $11 million Camden Council project has delivered 30 new netball courts and a host of facilities, including a centrally located amenities building with a canteen, walk in cool room, meeting rooms, computerised security features, toilets, kitchen and barbecue.
There is also new floodlighting, 400 car parking spaces, playground, fencing and landscaping.
Camden Netball Association used the new courts for the first time at the start of their summer competition last week.
“I would like to thank the Camden Netball Association for their input into the project,’’ said Camden Mayor Lara Symkowiak.
“This was truly a collaborative effort between council and the netball association,” she said.
Council has delivered the sports facility to fulfil the needs of the growing Camden community, as identified in the Camden Sportsground Strategy 2014.
The development will ultimately feature athletics facilities, 44 netball courts and multi-purpose sports grounds.
“Delivering high quality sports and recreation facilities is a high priority for the council,” Cr Symkowiak said.

“There are plans to add another 14 courts in the future.
“This new complex is positioned near existing sports grounds and will be extended in a number of stages to include other facilities,” she said.
