The Campbelltown Camden Ghosts cricket club will now be able to fly the national flags at their home ground, Raby Sports Complex.

The club will use a $4,685 grant to erect flag poles.

And the man who helped secure the funds, the federal member for Macarthur, Dr Mike Freelander, presented the cheque to the club last weekend.

The funding is derived from the Stronger Communities Grant program.

“I am truly pleased to have secured this funding for the club,” Dr Freelander after the presentation to club secretary Jason Ellsberg and captain coach Jarrad Burke.

“The cricket club has a longstanding history in the Macarthur region.

“I am proud to have been able to support this club, which has supported our community and generations of cricket players over the years.”

Dr Freelander also presented the club with a set of national flags.

With the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science and the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development still processing further grant applications supported by Dr Freelander, a number of other Macarthur region organisations are set to receive funding over the coming months.

“Throughout this grant process, we have had a number of fantastic organisations put in expressions of interests, and I am eager for the departments to finalise their decision,” Dr Freelander said.

With approximately $150, 000 allocated for funding of capital works and similar projects supported by Dr Freelander, a number of other eligible organisations are set to receive grants once the Government gives their final approval.
