Narellan youth leader charged with sexual assault

policedinkusA leader of a youth group in Narellan who allegedly sexually and indecently assaulted a teenager member has been arrested and charged.

The 35 year old has been charged with a number of sexual and indecent assault offences.

He was arrested inside a business in Gregory Hills before being taken to Narellan Police Station.

There he was charged with procuring a child for unlawful sexual activity, two counts of aggravated indecent assault of victim under 16 and under authority, three counts of aggravated indecent assault of victim under authority of offender, and sexual assault victim under authority of offender.

The alleged offences occurred between 2014 and 2015.

In April this year a 17-year-old girl attended Narellan Police Station to report the alleged assaults.

Officers attached to Camden Local Area Command commenced an investigation and their inquiries led to Gregory Hills and the arrest at 5.30pm yesterday of the man who was later charged.

The accused was granted conditional bail until he appears before Campbelltown Local Court on Monday, July 25.

Meanwhile, inquiries are continuing and police are encouraging anyone who feels they may be able to assist with the ongoing investigation to contact Narellan Police Station.
