MP welcomes funding boost for arts centre

Campbelltown MP Greg Warren has welcomed the funding boost for Campbelltown Arts Centre.

Mr Warren has congratulated staff at thearts hubs for successfully securing funding for the next three years from the NSW Government.

The centre is set to receive $450,000 in funding in 2016, 2017 and 2018 through the State Government’s Arts & Cultural Development Program.

“Campbelltown Arts Centre is a fantastic venue that showcases the very best of our local arts and culture,”Mr Warren said.

The announcement comes after Labor Opposition Leader Luke Foley’s visit to Campbelltown Arts Centre in December last year with Mr Warren and Member for Macquarie Fields Anoulack Chanthivong.

Mr Warren hosted a roundtable discussion with the Labor leader and staff from Campbelltown City Council to discuss the importance of government support for the arts in the Macarthur region.

Mr Warren said he was delighted that Campbelltown Arts Centre had secured the funding, which will enable it to continue to serve as an important cultural institution in the region.
