
Two motorcycle riders, one male and one female, have been charged after being caught street racing and exceeding the speed limit by more than 100km/h near Campbelltown on the weekend.
Just after 1.15am (Saturday, April 18), officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol were conducting speed enforcement duties on the Hume Motorway at Blair Athol, when they detected two motorcycles travelling south side by side at speeds of between 204km/h and 197 km/h in a signposted 100km/h zone.
Officers intercepted both motorcycles, stopping them shortly after.
Both riders – a 26-year-old man and a 23-year-old female with a P2 riders’ licence – were issued court attendance notices for organizing and promoting racing between vehicles, exceed speed more than 45km and riding at a speed dangerous to the public.
Their licences were also suspended and the registration plates of their motorcycles seized.
The pair will now appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Tuesday, May 19.

An investigation is under way after a public place shooting ear Liverpool on the early hours of Saturday morning.
Just after 1.50am, police were called to the shopping centre located along the Hume Highway, near Box Road, Casula, following reports of a shooting.
Officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command were told a shot was fired at a shop before two men left the scene in a white SUV along Pine Road.
There were no injuries reported due to the incident.
A crime scene was established, and police commenced an investigation into the incident.
