Concerns for welfare of missing teenager Maddison

Police are appealing for public assistance to find this teenage girl who has been missing since November 12.

Maddison Vanbaardwyk was last seen leaving Elizabeth Macarthur High School in Waterworth Drive about 3.30pm on that day, a Thursday.

She has not been seen or heard from since.

Officers from Camden Police Area Command were notified and commenced investigations into her whereabouts.

Despite an extensive ongoing search Maddison has not been located and due to her young age, police and family have concerns for her welfare.

She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 150cm tall, of medium build, with black hair, brown eyes and a fair complexion. At the time she was wearing her school uniform.

In a separate incident, police say a  42 year old Camden man has been charged after allegedly committing an act of indecency near a schoolgirl in Mt Annan yesterday.

About 3.30pm it is alleged a man seated in a white Toyota Landcruiser on Welling Drive, Mt Annan, commited a lewd act.

At this time, a schoolgirl walked past the vehicle and shortly after, the man drove from the scene.

Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command commenced an investigation after they were alerted to the incident.

A short time later, police stopped a Toyota Landcruiser on Edward Street, Camden, and arrested a 42-year-old man.

He was taken to Narellan Police Station and charged with carry out sexual act with another without consent and behave in offensive manner in/near public place/school.

The Camden man was granted conditional bail and is due to appear in Picton Local Court on December 15.
