Harrington Park Public School will have 19 new permanent classrooms when the 2023 school year gets under way.

The classrooms will be delivered as part of a major upgrade announced recently.

There will also be improvements to the school’s core facilities including the hall, library, covered outdoor learning area and staff areas.

The development application for the upgrade work has been approved and construction is expected to begin before the end of the year.

Completion is expected in late 2022.

Grindley Construction Pty Ltd were awarded the main works construction tender.

State member for Camden Peter Sidgreaves welcomed the news and said he was delighted with the progress of the upgrade.

“This is an important project for the Camden area,’’ he said.

“I’m pleased the contract has been awarded because it marks a significant milestone for the upgrade,” Mr Sidgreaves said.

Education Minister Sarah Mitchell said she was proud the NSW Government was delivering these major upgrades for the Harrington Park community.

“I’m very pleased the NSW Government is delivering these much-needed resources for the education of our children.’’

The NSW Government says it is investing $7 billion over four years to deliver more than 200 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW.

It says this is the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
