A celebration of the life and times of the legendary Harry Hunt will take place on Wednesday, March 30.
The public memorial service will be hosted by Liverpool Council and the Hunt family at Casula Powerhouse between 10am and 12 noon.
Invitations have started arriving in email inboxes across the great South West – Harry Hunt’s domain for decades.
While attendance is by invitation and ticket only, the service will be live streamed on the day so anyone who would like to watch it can. The link to the broadcast will be posted on the Hunts Hotel Facebook page and other social media prior to the memorial day.
“Sybra Hunt and family cordially invite you to the memorial service for Harry Hunt OAM,’’ says the invitation.
“The service will celebrate his contribution to community welfare, business and tourism communities of Liverpool, Macarthur and South West Sydney.’’
Harry Hunt passed away early last month, and a funeral took place and attended by family and close friends a few days ago. The front of the service booklet is pictured here.
There was a huge outpouring of grief from thousands of locals when the news of his passing first appeared on the Facebook page of the South West Voice in Macarthur on February 11.
The post reached almost 34,000 readers and triggered thousands of engagements – most of the latter praise for Harry Hunt and his generous community spirit.
The family are asking guests that in lieu of flowers, they consider a donation to Lifeline Macarthur and Western Sydney.
Guests are also being asked to share with the family any photos they may have with the late Harry Hunt.
