“I have fond memories doing the Meals on Wheels rounds with my Mum when I was a little bloke – I remember the joy Mum got out of it and the appreciation of clients.”

So said Campbelltown MP Greg Warren after visiting Campbelltown Meals on Wheels this morning, highlighting the importance of the service to the Campbelltown community.

“Meals on Wheels is an essential service for our community, helping people during a time in their life when they most need support,” he said.

Campbelltown Meals on Wheels serves a variety of meals to people who are frail, and people living with disabilities and their carers.

Meals on Wheels provides a delivery service five days a week to support those in need of assistance.

“This invaluable service has been serving those most in need for a meal continuously since 1972, covering the Campbelltown region as far out to Appin,” Mr Warren said.

“They are always looking for new volunteers to help provide this vital service and I encourage those in a position to help or volunteer to consider it,” Mr Warren said.

Campbelltown Meals on Wheels is holding a Seniors Open Day on Thursday, April 7.

It is inviting all seniors to go along and find out about the service, taste some of their meals, and find out who they can support the service throughout the community.

Those in a position to help can do so by calling 02 4645 4523 or by visiting the Campbelltown Meals on Wheels website.
