The Mary Brooksbank school for special kids will be the beneficiary of this year’s Campbelltown Mayor Charity Race Night on March 14.

The 2016 Campbelltown mayor’s charity race night will harness horse power to raise funds for Mary Brooksbank School for students with special needs.

The race night will be held Tabcorp Park, Menangle on Saturday, May 14.

Located in Rosemeadow, Mary Brooksbank School offers education from kindergarten all the way to Year 12.

Money raised by the 2016 mayor’s charity race night will go towards a much needed refurbishment of the school library.

Each year, the Mayor of Campbelltown hosts a charity event to raise money for a worthy local organisation. Last year’s event at Tabcorp Park raised $21,369 for Macarthur Legacy and to assist with its range of community support programs.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Hawker, said Mary Brooksbank School was a worthy beneficiary, and encouraged local businesses to get involved and sponsor the event or donate prizes.

“Mary Brooksbank School provides a caring and supportive environment for children with special needs to progress their education, and as a community that values diversity and opportunity, we should be ready to support their activities,” Cr Hawker said.

“Campbelltown is renowned for its community spirit and I encourage residents to join me trackside for an evening of great entertainment, and support local kids with disability to achieve their best,” Cr Hawker said.

Held trackside under a marquee, the 2016 Mayor’s Charity Race Night will start from 6pm and features all the excitement of harness racing plus raffles, auctions and entertainment. Tickets are $99 each or $900 for a table of 10, and include food and beverages.

A variety of sponsorship opportunities are also available.
