Learning internet skills can be fun
Learning internet skills can be fun through courses offered by local libraries.

Do you want to learn more about how to use email, basic internet, social media and other technologies?

Campbelltown City Library Services’ free computer and information technology (IT) sessions may just be what you’re looking for.

The IT & Biscuits workshops resume on Thursday, February 2.

They offer participants a basic understanding of computers and how they work, as well as a hands-on guide to emailing, searching the internet, and mastering Facebook and Skype.

There are also workshops on how to use smart phones, laptops, tablets and e-readers, and sessions which look at photographic and online shopping apps.

The relaxed and friendly workshops are tailored for beginners and come with tea, coffee and biscuits also provided.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said the wide variety of workshops would give learners of all ages a basis on which to build their knowledge of the ever-changing world of information technology.

“The workshops cover everything from setting up and using an email account, and ensuring the privacy of your Facebook account, to improving and storing your photographs, and shopping online,” he said.

“The internet can open up a new world to users – keeping them in contact with family and friends, increasing their access to information and giving them the opportunity to pursue new interests online.

“The workshops aim to give participants not only new skills, but the confidence to embrace new technologies.”

Courses are scheduled throughout the year.

Call any Campbelltown City library branch or 4645 4444 to secure your place.
