This year’s Marsden’s Law Group fun run was the perfect finale to a great Fisher’s Ghost Festival.
There were 710 participants ready to take on either the five or 10 kilometre challenge around the beautiful Campbelltown campus of Western Sydney University when the starter’s gun went off yesterday morning (Sunday, November 12).
The fun run is the last event of a busy festival calendar and attracts large family groups.
This year it seemed the family groups dominated the ranks of participants even more than usual, with none bigger than the extended family of the firm’s senior partner, Jim Marsden.
There were 482 registered participants in the 5km run, with 228 in the 10km.
While the emphasis is always on the fun part, it is worth noting for the record those who finished first and second in each of the two distances.
Dylan Orford and Sam Griffiths finished first and second in the 5km part of the run, while David Baker and Brendon Davies took the line hours in the 10km.
Campbelltown mayor George Brticevic was on hand to present the trophies to the winners at the completion of another fun run.
One of the reasons the Marsdens Law Group fun run is so popular every year is because it offers a number of team categories for either distance.
They include primary and high school teams, as well as business teams.
The fun run course includes both flat and hilly paths and consists of one lap (5km) or two laps (10km).
Some of the participants just walk the course on the day.
With so many local residents taking part, it is a great community event and a top way to end another Festival of Fisher’s Ghost.

It is great to see the Marsden Group still active in the community and Jim looking so fit
