Man faces drug charges after RBT stop at Tahmoor

Two men were arrested, and one was subsequently charged after police located drugs in a vehicle at Tahmoor.

Officers attached to Camden Traffic and Highway Patrol were conducting stationary Random Breath Testing on Remembrance Drive on Friday night (July 21) when they stopped a motor vehicle.

The officers spoke to the two male occupants of the vehicle, and after allegedly detecting a smell of cannabis, the car was searched.

It is alleged that the officers located cannabis in a small container and in five resealable bags.

Weights, scales, resealable plastic sachets, prescription drugs and an Ice pipe were also allegedly seized.

A quantity of cash and a modified metal pipe with 30 triangular blades welded around it were also allegedly found in the vehicle.

Both men were then taken to Narellan Police Station.

The driver of the car was charged with possessing a prohibited drug, supplying a prohibited drug and being in possession of an offensive implement.

One of them, a 27-year-old man was granted bail to appear at Picton Local Court on Tuesday, August 29 this year.

A 22-year-old man was released pending further inquiries.
