A 22 year old man arrested after a police pursuit through the Macarthur region has been charged with a string of offences, including breach of bail.
He appeared in a Parramatta Court on Sunday to be formally charged with failing to stop during a police pursuit.
Also, driving at speed/recklessly, furiously or speeding in a dangerous manner, negligent driving, and driving as a learner not accompanied, or displaying L plates.
About 5.30pm on Saturday, police officers responding to an urgent job in Appin spotted a Suzuki Swift allegedly driving in a dangerous manner along Appin Road.
Police attempted to pull the Suzuki over but it failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.
The Suzuki travelled from Appin to Wilton and towards Picton, where it evaded police road spikes.
With the assistance of PolAir, the Suzuki was seen to stop on Remembrance Drive, about one kilometre north of Picton where the driver, a 22-year-old man, was arrested.
The driver underwent a roadside breath test which returned a negative result; however, a roadside drug test allegedly produced a positive indication.
The results will be sent for further testing.
The man was taken to Narellan Police Station and charged.

In a separate incident, police are investigating after two men were injured in single vehicle crash in Silverdale Road, Wollondilly.
Emergency services were called just after 4.30pm on Saturday, following reports a Subaru had veered off the road and hit a power pole.
The driver and his passenger, both aged 19, were trapped in the vehicle for a period of time before being freed by Fire & Rescue NSW with assistance from Rural Fire Service.
Both men were treated at the scene by paramedics before one man was airlifted to Liverpool Hospital and the second man, who suffered broken leg, pelvis and lacerations, was taken to the same hospital by ambulance.
Officers attached to St Mary’s Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation with assistance from Crash Investigation Unit into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
