Police appeal for information on Macquarie Fields shooting

An investigation is under way after multiple shots were fired at a house in Macquarie Fields overnight.

Police have today also made an appeal for information from the public.

Detective Inspector Andrew Mackay, the Campbelltown City police area command crime manager, addressed the media this morning at Macquarie Fields police station.

About 10.50pm last night (Wednesday, November 5), emergency services were called to a home on Petunia Place, Macquarie Fields, following reports of shots were fired.

Officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command were told unknown people had allegedly fired multiple shots at a house before leaving the scene.

There were no injuries reported out of shooting.

A crime scene has been established, and police commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident.

A police officer has been charged following an investigation into alleged domestic violence offences.

Last month officers attached to South West Metropolitan Region commenced an investigation following reports an officer had allegedly assaulted and harassed a person known to them.

Police were told the officer – a 25-year-old female constable attached to a South West Metropolitan command – had allegedly sent a number of texts between May 2025 and October 2025 harassing the person.

Officers were also told the 25-year-old allegedly assaulted the person earlier this year.

Following investigations, police charged the officer with using a carriage service to menace/harass/offend, and common assault (domestic violence).

She was issued a Court Attendance Notice to appear before Campbelltown Local Court on December 16.

Two men are in police custody as an investigation is under way over a car fire near Liverpool overnight.

Emergency services were called to a hotel on Homepride Avenue, Warwick Farm, following reports of a car fire just after midnight.

On arrival, officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command located a ute well alight in the carpark of the hotel.

Fire and Rescue NSW attended the scene and the blaze was extinguished.

There were no injuries reported due to the incident.

The vehicle was seized to be forensically examined.

Following inquiries, about 1am on the same day, police arrested two men aged 37 and 29 in Cabramatta.
