Macarthur Rams are back home for round 14 League One action when they host Blacktown Spartans at Lynwood Park this Saturday night.
Both teams won last week, but it will be the Rams who will run out full of beans after their come from behind away win against Northern Eagles in round 13.
And to be fair the gap between the two sides is not as big as their positions on the ladder may indicate.
Spartans are in third spot, while Rams are 11th after their 3-2 win in Turramurra.
The Blacktown side have won six games and drawn four, while the Rams have recorded five victories and two draws.
It means there’s just five points separating the two, which can be slashed to just two if the Rams get up this Saturday night.
The home side will no doubt be buzzing after giving new coach Darren Jones the perfect start to his tenure at Lynwood Park.
But it wasn’t just winning the match that will have the Rams ready to rock against the Spartans.
Coach Jones also gave 17 year old Will Miranda (pictured above) his debut against the Eagles, and the kid showed plenty of promise.
Christian Torrelli was probably the standout in a performance where the Rams showed significant character, while Jarrad Wiley and Daniel Bittar also found the back of the net after the side went 2-1 down with less than 20 minutes left.
All five goals came in the second half, which can happen after a lacklustre first 45 minutes.
After the match coach Darren Jones said his side showed tremendous character coming from behind for a crucial three points.
He will be hoping there’s more where that came from when they face the Spartans.
