Round two of the 2025 Macarthur Conference rugby league premiership has some interesting match-ups.

After some predictable results in the season openers, round two is set to tell us a little bit more about which teams are on the way up and which ones are heading downwards.

Campbelltown Collegians, a fairly recent addition to the comp, formerly known as Group Six, will run out at Bradbury Oval at 3pm on Sunday when they host The Oaks Tigers.

The Tigers have been fairly consistent in recent years and the test for them will be to turn themselves into a real premiership threat.

Of course that would be quite a challenge, because dethroning mighty Camden Rams from the top of the pile will be a mighty task.

The premiers are heading to Oakdale to take on the Workers, another consistent performer in recent seasons, but yet to reach the summit in that time.

Mittagong Lions, last man standing from the Southern Highlands, have also been solid in the past few seasons, without dominating the competition.

The Lions are at home on Sunday, hosting the Narellan Jets.

Thirlmere Roosters host South West Goannas, last season’s big improvers, and it will be interesting to see how they will fare this season.

Picton Magpies host the Campbelltown City Kangaroos at Victoria Park in another intriguing contest.

Both were first rounds losers, the Magpies going down 38-18 to Thirlmere, while the ‘Roos were beaten by the Lions by two points at Fullwood Reserve.

That was one of two close opening round games, the other a 22-18 away victory for Oakdale against the Oaks Tigers (pictured above).

Camden Rams opened their defence with a comfortable 38-6 win over neighbours Narellan.

In the Campbelltown derby, Collegians were too good for the Eagles at Waminda, winning 42-22.
