Local AFL footballers will soon be able to enjoy improved facilities as part of an $800,000 upgrade at Clark Reserve, Kearns.

The existing amenities building will be upgraded and extended to provide the Macarthur Bulldogs Junior AFL Club modern facilities.

Works include refurbishment of the existing canteen to include new stainless steel kitchen, new toilets, including accessible toilets, two new change rooms, new referees room, additional storage room and a new meeting room.

Campbelltown mayor George Brticevic said the upgrade would allow the club to better cater for its base of junior footballers and increase their storage capacity.

“This is a great way for us to support a recently amalgamated club, the Macarthur Bulldogs, who do a fantastic job providing opportunities for kids in Campbelltown and the wider region to play Aussie Rules,” Cr Brticevic said.

“These renovations will make it easier for the many great volunteers who run the club to store their equipment and give them much-needed meeting space and better canteen facilities,” he said.

“The new change rooms will also allow the club to cater for its growing female participants now and into the future.”

Work is expected to be complete in mid next year.
