Macarthur FC go into tonight’s clash with Melbourne Victory at Campbelltown Stadium off the back of a four match unbeaten run.
However three of those matches were draws and as the Bulls head into the business end of the A-League season they need to convert them into victories and collect the vital three premiership points that come with that.
The Bulls are in fifth spot currently on 32 points, but they have a negative goal differential, another reason they need to win tonight and win well.
While they have improved over the last few weeks, the Victory have had a shocking season and are desperate to avoid the wooden spoon.
You could see it all in their effort against the Bulls in Melbourne last week when they lost 2-1 in a tight affair.
It will be tougher for them at Campbelltown tonight, against a team that just might be getting its second wind after a few performances tinged with fatigue.
It has been a long season but if Ante Milicic’s men can produce energetic performances in the next five matches a finals spot awaits them – a marvellous result in their inaugural season – and a season schedule to test the toughest sports people.
Hopefully Campbelltown, Macarthur and South Western Sydney fans will turn up in reasonable numbers tonight to help get the boys get home.
The return of Ivan Franjic will boost the Bulls, as will that of young midfielder Denis Genrau.
Still unavailable through injury are Aleksandar Jovanovic and Tommy Oar.
Kick off is at 7.05pm.
