It’s raining goals in M-League opener

Round one of the 2020 Ottimo House M-League finally kicked-off last weekend with an entertaining men’s clash between newcomers Ingleburn at home to Mt Annan at Macquarie Fields, pictured above.

It didn’t take long for the Ingleburn to find their feet, taking the lead within the first 10 minutes.

The Mt Annan Mustangs scored twice in reply to be leading 2-1 in the 77th minute.

However a sensational Tretheway header late in the match ensure the points were shared in the 2-2 draw.

In other men’s M-League 2020 matches reigning champions Gunners SC weren’t suffering any hangovers, as they put nine goals past Eschol Park away from home and kept a clean sheet at their end.

Camden Tigers 2 defeated Harrington 0, while Oran Park and Narellan Rangers also shared the points in a 1-1 draw.

  • This weekend, in round two action, Gunners host Ingleburn, Mt Annan are home to Harrington, Narellan Rangers welcome Eschol Park and Camden Tigers tackle Oran Park Rovers.

With the scores level at 2-2, it was Narellan’s Johnston that proved the match winner, quickly and calmly slotting two goals in quick succession to complete a hat trick and hand the Rangers a 4-2 win and three premiership points.
In other results, Eschol Park and Ingleburn played out a 1-1 draw, newcomers St Mary’s had their first win in the top flight defeating Tahmoor 3-2, while reigning champions Camden Tigers put the league on notice with a comprehensive 14-0 win over Oran Park.

  • This weekend in round two action of the women’s M-League premiership, Oran Park Rovers host St Marys. In other games, Harrington United tackle Camden Tigers, Ingleburn clash with Narellan and Tahmoor take on Eschol Park.
