Local flavour: Dirty Reeds will be the support act to Hands Like House in Campbelltown on September 25.

Local punk trio The Dirty Reeds have been confirmed as one of the support acts when Australian hard rock band Hands like Houses headlines the 2015 Indent Tour gig at Campbelltown Civic Hall on Friday, September 25.

Indie rockers, The Last Exposure, will also be playing on the night as the other support act to Hands Like Houses.

Three piece punk trio, Columbus, is the other band that will be performing at the gig, which kicks off the annual Indent Tour of regional NSW.

Now in its sixth year, the annual Indent Tour is a not just an independent music show, but a skills development opportunity for young people in regional communities.

The tour is designed to provide young and emerging musicians in regional NSW with a platform to develop their performance skills and generate further live performance opportunities.

The local support acts will have the chance to work with a professional production team, showcase their talent to a large audience and share the stage with nationally recognised performing artists.

Indent works directly with teams of young people aged 12-25 in each region, to stage each show of the tour. The tour is funded and facilitated by Indent, with young people actively involved in the event planning process. The teams will walk away with practical and transferable skills in event management, music business and live performance through working alongside leading industry professionals.

It is the only tour of its kind in Australia and is managed by MusicNSW and funded through Arts NSW, with support from APRA.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Lake, said Indent provided Campbelltown youth with the opportunity to learn new skills and test drive a career in the music industry.

“It’s also a great opportunity for the local support bands to showcase their talent,” Cr Lake said.

All Indent Tour shows are all ages, drug and alcohol free.
